I’ve been looking for effective teaching resources aimed at deaf students, particularly around literacy. Does anyone have recommendations for books or websites that are particularly engaging for young learners? I want to build my toolkit so I can better support the kids I work.
But have you checked out the book ‘Visual Language and Visual Learning’? It’s great for engaging young learners and really supports literacy. It helped me a lot in building my toolkit, especially with students who have different learning styles.
, I totally get your frustration with finding resources; have you tried ‘Literacy for the Deaf’ by T.J. Nelson? It’s specifically geared toward creating engaging literacy materials.
