The joys of interpreting corporate jargon

I had a hilarious moment recently while interpreting a corporate presentation where they kept dropping buzzwords and acronyms that had everyone scratching their heads. Picture me trying to sign ‘synergy’ and ‘paradigm shift’ without laughing! It’s a challenge, but it keeps the job entertaining. Anyone else have similar stories of trying to stay serious while navigating corporate speak?

I totally get that! I once had to sign ‘disruptive innovation’ in a meeting where the executives were taking themselves way too seriously. It’s tough not to crack a smile, especially when they throw in a few acronyms like TCO and ROI back-to-back.

@evans_2031, right! I once had to sign ‘value-added’ and nearly turned it into a full-on performance. It’s wild how these buzzwords can sound like secret codes. Sometimes I think we should just throw in some interpretive dance to really get the point across.

I once had to sign ‘thinking outside the box’ while trying to avoid the corner of the room since it was so small! It’s amazing how much corporate language can sound like a code we’re not supposed to break. Ever tried incorporating a little humor into your signs to lighten the mood, @janet_1972?
