Time for Better Crisis Response Training

I just finished an intense week of interpreting during emergency drills, and it highlighted how crucial it’s for interpreters to be trained for high-pressure situations. In my experience, clear and quick communication can save lives, especially when every second counts. Are there any new resources or training programs out there that focus on this aspect?

It’s so true that every second counts in those situations! I recently came across a workshop by the National Association of the Deaf focusing on crisis interpreting — definitely worth checking out. It’s like trying to interpret in a karaoke competition, where the stakes are way higher than just hitting the right notes.
