Tools for virtual interpreting sessions

I’ve been diving into various platforms for remote interpreting and wanted to share my experience with Zoom and Google Meet. Both have their pros and cons, but I find Zoom’s accessibility features to be a bit more accommodating for deaf clients. How do others manage accessibility in online sessions? Let’s share some tools and tips.

I find using a second monitor can make a world of difference for managing multiple streams during a session — it’s like trying to juggle while riding a unicycle — you can do it, but having a solid setup helps a ton! What’s your go-to trick for keeping everything organized?

I totally agree about Zoom’s accessibility! Have you tried adding a background and adjusting lighting? It can help improve visibility a ton.

One thing that’s really helped me in virtual interpreting is using the smartphone app alongside the desktop version. It lets me manage the chat and screen sharing more easily, especially during multispeaker sessions. Have you tried connecting a tablet for the chat feature while interpreting on Zoom?
