I’ve been reflecting on how important it’s for interpreters to really understand the values and priorities of the Deaf community they are working with. For example, respecting preferred sign languages and cultural norms can greatly affect the quality of communication. I’m curious to hear others’ experiences or resources that have helped deepen their understanding in this area.
